The Safe Discharge of Patients

Question: Write an essay on the Safe Discharge of Patients? Answer: L M Safe discharge 1A Description The central focus of the current essay would be to ensure the safe discharge of patients who want to reside in their homes. It would reflect on a plethora of professional issues which have been encountered by me during my practice at the clinic and also the management placement. The easy seeks to critically appraise the theories that underpin leadership and management within healthcare and additionally outlines the various qualities and skills required to lead and manage individuals and the its implications for the group dynamics of various professional teams in this regard. Findings During my practice, I once encountered a patient who was declared medically fit to go home, but still i did not consider it safe to send her home as I thought she would be unable to perform her Daily Living Activities (DLA). Hence as part of my responsibility in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (2015), I raised the concern about her Daily Living Activities (DLA) and hence the case was referred to Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). The MDT arranged an effective package of care (Department of Health 2010) given by student nurses under the supervision of their respective mentors (NMC 2007, Lees 2004). In this case, I had the opportunity to act as an informal leader (Royal College of Nursing 2002). Evaluation The patient was discharged and reached home safely. As a near qualified student nurse, I lead this discharge process (while adhering to the trust discharge policy) under the vigil supervision of my mentor who was working with MDT (DH 2010). The member of MDT expected the safe discharge of the patient which is imperative since safety constitutes a key component of Maslows hierarchy of needs (Runyan 2008). Analyse Transformation theory is the leadership theory that supports my discharge plan. It was Suliman (2009) who proved that transformation theory is relatively more popular and successful in the healthcare sector. Transformation leaders tend to concentrate on the culture and learning experiences of the individuals and advocate shared responsibilities (Avolio and Bass 2001; Smith 2011). Avolio and Bass (2001) state that transformational leaders tend to raise the level of moral maturity of their followers. As per Stanley (2006), it is imperative that clinical leaders need to be equipped with clinical competence along with skills such as knowledge, empowerment, decision-making and effective communication. During my experience, when I was require to liaison with MDT, I acted as an active participant at the MDT meeting so as to discuss and gather all requisite information specific to each DLA of patient so as to determine how to get the patient discharged to home in a safe and secure manner. As per Miers and Pollard (2010), one of the most vital aspects of safe discharge planning is communication and hence in case of ineffective communication discharge may be delayed. Hence it can be concluded that effective leadership when involved in multidisciplinary working results in better outcome. However this activity helped me understand self awareness is a very critical part of leadership. Hence effective communication and self-awareness are the core skills which are required for leadership. Human Resource Project Management

Question: Discuss about the Human Resource Project Management. Answer: Introduction Organizations need projects so as to function properly and develop. Projects enable firms to grow and expand their business in different ways. To manage the project the project well, the management should fully understand what is required of them. This is because the project involves management of ideas, physical resources, finances and human resources. Project management refers to the whole process of planning, controlling and coordination of project from initiation to completion. The purpose of this report is to explain phases involved in constructing a project, leadership styles applicable in each stage and conflicts that occur in the project of building the project (Harzing and Pinnington, 2010). Phases of the Construction Project Project Initiation This is the first step of every project. The primary purpose of this stage is to define the project clearly authorization from the relevant bodies to start the project. In this phase, a feasibility study is conducted to determine if the study is worth undertaking. Feasibility study involves economic viability, social feasibility, legal feasibility and technical feasibility. This is also the stage where all the stakeholders who will participate in making the project a success are introduced in the project through the use of Project Initiation Document (PID). This document presents the scope of the project, its duration, its deliverables, resource requirements and is investment estimation. This also the stage where the project can be modified to fit the firm and project needs best. If the project is complex, this is the stage to split it so that it can be more understandable and manageable so that it can be successful (Meredith andMantel Jr, 2011). Project Planning This is the second stage of the project. It focuses on developing the plan that will be followed to make the project successful. It begins by setting the goals of the project. The set goals should be challenging and achievable if the project is needed to add significant value to the firm. The most popular method of solving the goals is S.M.A.R.T. This means that the goals should be specific and clearly show what needs to be done and who, where and even when to perform a particular task. Measurable entails creating criteria that can be used to measure the successfulness of a goal. Attainable means that that the most important goals should be identified also how to achieve them. Realistic means the set goals to be achieved the involved parties have to be willing to work towards that particular goal. Timely, on the other hand, emphasizes on creating a timeframe that will enable achievement of the set goals. At this stage, the project manager also develops the scope statement that define s the business needs, benefits of the project, objectives, and deliverables. This prevents the project from deviating from the set plan. Communication plan for updating the stakeholders should also be created. Risk management plan that indicates what should be done when unexpected events happen such budget cuts. Work breakdown schedule (WBS) for breaking down the compound project into manageable sections is also created at this stage (Wysocki, 2011). Project Execution This is the third stage of the project. Deliverables of the project are developed and completed in this phase. Its aims are to accomplish the work defined during the planning phase of the project. Project manager best leadership skills are required din this stage as it also involves controlling, directing and coordinating resources as well as people and also ensuring that activities are conducted by the set plan. Some tasks accomplished in this stage include team development, assigning resources to the relevant section, procurement management if needed, set up tracking systems, having a status meeting and update project schedule. Replanning of the project is also done on this project so as to correct the variances that have occurred in the process of executing the project. The replanning occurs when activities exceed their performance duration, shortage of resources and also unexpected risks such employee strike that makes the whole project hard to achieve its projects. If the replan ning is not handled well by the relevant authority, the project can be modified. This means that the initially set objectives may not be achieved leading to failure of the project (Huemann, 2010). Project monitoring and Control This phase is concerned with measuring the progression of the project and ensuring that everything is happening by the set plans. It helps to identify potential problems so that necessary action can be taken that can contribute to correct the situation. The manager uses key performance indicators to ensure that everything is being performed well. The performance indicators include project objectives, quality deliverables, effort and cost tracking and project performance. This phase is imperative as it identifies the areas that require extra attention. This helps to prevent deviations that can be avoided. This review provides important updates to the planning of the project (Huemann, 2010). Project Closure This phase marks the completion of the project. It also closes a canceled project. The hired contractors contract expires, and their services are terminated. The best performing team members are recognized by being promoted or even rewarded by different means. The project manager is supposed to hold a meeting which is usually referred to as post mortem' in this stage. This session is intended for evaluating what went well and also the project failures. The project manager then prepares the final project budget and report for documentation purposes (Wysocki, 2011). Conclusion Without proper management, the project will fail terribly as this will negatively affect the involved firm. This is because the company will have wasted a lot of valuable resources which could have been used somewhere else to help achieve organizational goal and objectives. The project, therefore, should have well-defined phases and best leadership that can solve the arising conflicts. References Hamstra, M. R., Van Yperen, N. W., Wisse, B., Sassenberg, K. (2011). Measuring quality in sport Essay Using benchmarks within sports development is to measure the quality of an initiative or sports club. Benchmarking is a process that all clubs and initiatives have to follow to ensure they meet the correct requirements to achieve a benchmark. To get these benchmarks they must undergo Inspections and to have all data records looked upon to ensure they are covered In all kinds of insurances documents, safeguarding, and emergency procedures. Etc. National governing bodies and sports organizations such as Sport England and UK SPORT recognize these clubs that have achieved these benchmarks. Benchmarks are also used in comparisons with other sports clubs to produce a comparative and competitive source for which the standards of a club are compared to show people who are Interested In participating or know someone who does and want to Join a club fit for their needs. Quality Schemes are used to improve and continually are finding ways to improve the quality of customer service in the sports industry. Quality schemes are mostly aimed at leisure centre across the I-J that provide close contact will the general public. Sports Development organizations use self assessments or programmed to improve he qualities of sports clubs and sporting Initiatives. The assessment Is operated by a grading system that assesses; Timekeeping Workmanship Coaching Quality of Equipment Problem Solving Professionalism and Standards when the assessment takes place the club/lamentable have score boundaries they have for which whatever they are based on they fall Into that category which Is then published. The quality of a club is only shown if the club score 60% or more. Sport England Cellular A example of this is the Sport England Cellular. This cellular Is Issued one a club or leisure has passed the necessary procedure of approval. The cellular shows Sport England are in a way recommending this club that shows good standards and procedures within sport. The procedure of getting a cellular is set within guidelines for with an examiner will come in and ensure the club has all the accessory paperwork, safety procedures/action plans to ensure the participants are safe at all times. The criteria of the procedure is filled in and then a copy of certificates, policies and qualifications. The criteria is checked every 2 years to ensure the standards are met and that none of the paperwork used as evidence is not out- dated, if it is then the club must go about replacing them. In conclusion this type of assessment is quite effective due to marketing and advertising the cellular to show that the club is at a high standard. More so with participants who are edging towards the higher end of the sports development momentum, as parents will be looking for sports club that meets all of the desired targets that the parent may seem fit for their child to develop. Internal and Self-Assessment This is another procedure to measure quality in sport. Self-assessment is a evaluation provided of your own performance. Sports clubs and initiatives do this measure as their own clubs strengths and weaknesses. And the potential of the opportunities or threats they face. Sports clubs can then create a Development plan to fix the areas of development, and improve on their strengths. Self-assessing will alp initiatives and organizations set goals to improve their current results of assessment. Internal assessment means you can identify your successes and a areas of development and internally within your club can provide plans to improve the level of quality to a long term look and potential progress. A example of this is doing a SOOT Analysis to seek your strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats. This is a form of self-assessing and is used to evaluate current states and where the club is and how they can improve. Opportunities are the result of the strengths when having strength only positive outcomes can be achieved. Threats are the results of the weakness and are the negative outcomes. When using a soot analysis to be able to make goals to improve the quality and be able to progress forward the club must be able to make realistic targets that will be measurable and fit the specific needs for the club and its members. This is used by seeking the weaknesses and areas for development and producing a development plan to set the targets and goals for expand the club. This is a very effective way in improving the quality of sports clubs and initiatives. This because it is easy to show the strengths and weaknesses and show that in the rent state the opportunities from the strengths and the threats the sporting club/ initiative may face if they do not improve. When evaluating from the results of a SOOT Analysis a development plan must be created to work on the areas of development and how to improve or better the strengths. This is a on-going procedure which in time will improve the quality of a sports club. Comprehensive Performance Assessment (C. P. A) CPA is an example of internal assessment. After a sports club have completed a SOOT analysis a sports organization will produce a CPA to put a rating the level of quality within the sports club. This is produced by a combination off sports clubs development plan. After a sports club have completed a SOOT analysis, a sports organization for example Sport England would then provide a CPA. The Spas objective is to put a value on the level of quality of a sports club. This is produced by a combination of a sports clubs action which is identified by a self assessment like a soot analysis. A plan is made with the potential quality and actual quality. Potential Quality is how good the quality of a sports club could be depending on what comes out of the development plan. Actual Potential is where a sports club is at this state eight now, which also depends on the Development plan. Different sports clubs have different levels of quality, for example some may have high quality in some areas that another sports club might not. In conclusion this type of assessment is quite effective if followed correctly and depending on if a clubs development plan is strong enough to work off. Ensuring that the goals the club are realistic and able to achieve, also the club has passed the following stages of a development plan they should be at better state for which they will achieve a better success rate and potentially more customers.

An Example of Using Essay Topics

An Example of Using Essay TopicsOne of the best essay topics for Harvard students is a good one, whether it is an essay on Shakespeare or any other topic. This is because the essay topics can then be used in a number of different ways when they are assigned. There are several different ways that the essays could be utilized. For example, if the topics are conducted in pairs, one could take place in the past and the other in the present, or they could be conducted within a particular time frame. This could be by taking place within the course of several days or several weeks, or within the duration of several years.Another way that the essay topics could be utilized is to reflect upon the nature of each essay and the events surrounding each assignment. This could be done by carefully going over each essay, determining the most memorable aspects, and describing those aspects. This would then allow the essay to be able to form the basis of a reading assignment. There could also be a numbe r of ways in which the essay topics could be utilized. The topics could be used to determine what type of essay is being written about. For example, the literary topics could be written in such a way as to represent an example of the literary genre that the essay topic is based upon.An example of this would be an essay about Thomas Jefferson's life, and one could then state the major accomplishments that were made during that period of time. One could go through each and every achievement, and how they were accomplished, and why they were accomplished. This could then be applied to an essay that was being written about the United States at the time. The examples could be used to determine what the most effective essay was, in regard to the content and style of the essay. The results of the essay could then be used as part of a reading assignment. The essay topics could be used to discover the characteristics of the lecturer that made him or her so effective, and perhaps to discover w hat areas of the lecturer's teaching styles would be most effective.Another way that the essay topics could be used would be to determine how well the student knew the topic that they were writing about. In this manner, one could determine which areas they were less knowledgeable about and then work on those areas. This could be used as a measure of how well the lecturer was able to draw upon their knowledge base and thus could determine how much benefit could be derived from further study of that aspect of the subject. There are many different ways in which the essay topics could be used. The topics could be used to compare and contrast the two lecturers, and then determine what areas of study were furthered by the lecturer that was being compared to the other lecturer. In some cases, the topics could even be used to compare the two instructors.

Deterministic Schema Essays - Economic Ideologies, Socialism

Deterministic Schema Essays - Economic Ideologies, Socialism Deterministic Schema Marxism is a deterministic schema in that according to its doctrine, each subsequent turn of events is a direct result of a specific sequence of causes. According to Marx and Engels in this statement, each stage of history is inevitable and is pushed into the next stage by specific forces, particularly class struggle. Class struggle in a Feudalistic society between the Autocracy, some craftsmen, and infinite numbers of peasants, combined with the onset of the Commercial Revolution in the sixteenth century leads to capitalism. The Industrial revolution that accompanies capitalism causes a new kind of class structure and with it, a new kind of class struggle. The middle class grows in size and wealth while the peasants become the working class and decline in wealth as their depravity increases. The Labor Theory of Value states that the worker can never make it because s/he never receives enough money for the worth of the product. All of the profit goes to further investment and the pro letarian is left overworked and hungry. This class related problem leads to the failure of the capitalist revolution and pushes society into socialism. Socialism is state capitalism. The workers own the companies and the issue of class is avoided it is a classless society. As a deep down moralist, Marx is most interested in the class struggle fueled push into socialism. He is quite vague about the necessary push from socialism to communism, and is more interested in the capitalism socialism transition. Steps cannot be skipped but can be sped up, so the question would be when will class struggle force society into communism from socialism. Communism according to the manifesto is the withering of the state and the ideal state of existence with much collaboration. Lenin takes the challenge of manipulating time (Marx didnt say when) and bringing communism into play. His was a combination of wanting to grab power for the will of the people and Marxism.

In this essay, we shall focus on Yang Fudong as the central reference in reviewing different aspects or art. In addition, we shall focus on the location; explore some details concerning the nature of photographs and why his work of art is significant. Yang is an experienced photographer whose birth dates back to 1971 in Shanghai china. In all his works, the main focus is to realize the full power of imagery in exploring subjectivity, experience and thought. His ability to draw stylistically important details from the history of Chinese cinema is worth noting. This information is then presented in the form of open ended narratives that combine quotidian ritual with a dream and fantasy. In addition to his undisputable interest in art, yang is a trained painter with credentials from china academy of fine arts in Hangzhou (Ye Jiang, 2011, p.1). Yang has been in the art industry for a long time which explains his experience and the ability to produce quality and moving works of art. This portray the real potential that art has in expressing peoples thoughts, feelings and grievances or problems that affect them in their daily lives. The Nightmancometh is a single screen work which unveils in the realm of historical fantasy to adequately encompass thought and feelings through the use of immortal characters. This piece of work is very pop ular among the many film, photographs and paintings that yang funding has developed in his lifetime. In developing and presenting this piece of work yang settled for a neo-realism description rather than historical or allegorical one. This method combines current and contemporary social factors in one piece of artwork. This film is a clear expression of the fact that when historical events appear and reappear, they seize being part of history and become part of the present or future. In viewing this film, the writer is taken through a series of changing emotions and thoughts as the warrior faces different circumstances. The view is left to wonder whether the warrior will continue fighting or will quit the battle half way. Yang fundong’

Christianity Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2750 words

Christianity - Essay Example 2. Why were the Romans initially threatened by Christianity? The Romans were initially threatened by Christianity because leaders who stood and believed in the status quo did not encourage any shift of power from one social group to another. In fact, a shift in power would amount to quite big problems; it all boiled down to money. Without enough people to make sacrifices at the temple, people who worked in temples and made money as money changers in the temples did not make money off to Christians, who refused to participate due to the new wave of thinking brought in by Christianity. Christians were viewed as overly exclusive and hence, dangerous to the society in general and public order. Christians had no respect for other gods and they therefore refrained from public festivals that were meant to honor public deities. In fact, they never worshiped state gods and the imperial cult. They neither worshipped nor recognized the emperor as the leader of religion. This turned out to be un fortunate for the Romans, who wanted to stay powerful. Therefore, they were treated with suspicion and regarded as stubborn and somewhat subversive to the State solidarity. 3. What do the world-views of Christianity and Greco-Roman humanism have in common? How are they different? Christianity and Greco-Roman humanism share many common elements. ... This means that both Christianity and Greco-Roman humanism had several things in common and maintained differences at the same too. 4. Explain the importance of these individuals: 1- Saint Paul: Saint Paul was important because he was one of the Apostles of Christ. Initially, Paul was a persecutor of Christians who got converted while on his way to Damascus (the Lord converted him from Saul to a Roman name Paul) thus becoming one of the greatest Christian missionaries. He traveled far and wide within Greece and other places in order to spread the Gospel, ultimately shaping the way we understand the Bible today. 2- The Bishop of Rome: The Bishop of Rome was very important because he made important decisions regarding Christianity-before Christianity in Europe was split into the warring factions of Protestantism with Martin Luther and Rome’s Catholicism. The Bishop of Rome rose to a position of preeminence in the hierarchical structure of the church to be identified as the leade r of the church. 3- Saint Augustine: Saint Augustine was the first archbishop of the church of Canterbury. He was also a writer, rhetorician, and devout Christian whose writings upon several topics regarding faith were highly-regarded in the Christian faith. St. Augustine’s works are respected by both Protestants and Catholics alike. 5. What was monasticism and why was it important to the people of this period and to Western Civilization in general? Do monastic communities still exist? Explain. Monasticism was a form of asceticism practiced by Protestant, Christian, and Orthodox monks (men) and nuns (women). In a gender-neutral term they are known as â€Å"monastics†. The Monastics lived alone in the
